Classic Railway Museum Experience
Date: June 28, 2014 10:00 am to 04:00 pm
To commemorate the important legacy of railways in this region, the museum will be partnering with various local businesses and organizations to offer five days of special events from June 27- July 1st. Admission will be free every day with donation of a non-perishable food item for the local food bank. The museum would like to thank CN for generously sponsoring the entire week of special events.
From 10 am to 4 pm, enjoy a traditional outing at the Railway and Forestry Museum! Learn Prince George's railway history with a 2:00 pm talk by historian and author Trelle Morrow about the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway's arrival in town and the industries that accompanied it. See our turntable in action and lunch on smoky, freshly-grilled hamburgers. There will also be guided tours around the museum.
The museum will also be offering a never-before-seen treat- the chance to see the museum's entire collection of miniature engines and rolling stock used on the Cottonwood Railway. Take a look inside the mini-rail storage car and learn all about how our track was built and what kind of work goes into running the locomotives!
Admission: Free with a non-perishable food donation
