To commemorate the important legacy of railways in this region, the museum will be partnering with various local businesses and organizations to offer five days of special events from June 27- July 1st. Admission is free each event day with donation of a non-perishable food item for the local food bank. The museum would like to thank CN for generously sponsoring the entire week of special events.
It's time to celebrate the contemporary Prince George community!
On June 27th, from 11 am to 3 pm, enjoy a Community Fair! Various organizations will be on-site with games, activities and giveaways for visitors. The museum will be offering a lunch barbecue, as well as railway-themed crafts, bubble-blowing, and a water park zone for kids. The Two Rivers Art Gallery will be teaching visitors to craft mandalas from recycled materials, Huble Homestead will provide a historical display, and the Prince George Fire Department will offer demonstrations of trucks and equipment. This event will also see a visit from 2015 Canada Winter Games mascot Nanguz the Fox.
The Ask a Geologist table will be running again this year, and curious visitors can ask professional geologists their questions. Visitors can listen to local archaeologists talk about Prince George history, try driving a locomotive with CN's training simulator, or test their Power Smart knowledge with BC Hydro. Visitors can take home free forest seedlings from I.F.S., and during the day everyone will enjoy a free outdoor concert with performances by rock group Said Dog and Long & McQuade's students and staff.
The museum would like to thank all of its partners for helping to bring this event to the Prince George community.
Admission: free with a non-perishable food donation
